ideas about therapy
Profound transformations in thoughts and feelings often emerge from the personal and secure therapeutic connection we build together. It’s within this space that we can examine, with curiosity, the intricate threads of how, where, and why certain patterns of thinking and emotions have taken shape; often in the exploration of past experiences.
For well over a decade I have been supporting individuals facing a wide spectrum of challenges, ranging from general concerns to more profound issues such as anxiety, depression, feelings of isolation, panic, and complex family dynamics. It’s not uncommon for these to become overwhelming, sometimes terrifying, leading us to question our own sense of self.
Integrative therapy blends techniques and insights from various modalities. Existential therapy is rooted in philosophy focusing on exploring meaning, purpose, freedom, and choice in life. My approach combines these perspectives. In a nutshell we aim to acknowledge the complexities of our human experience while considering both practical historical, learned and existential dimensions.
pathways to my integrative approach
“...we may say that the patient does not remember anything of what he has forgotten and repressed, but acts it out. He reproduces it not as a memory but as an action; he repeats it, without, of course, knowing that he is repeating it” ― Sigmund Freud
“we cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.”― Carl R. Rogers
“Therefore we will not listen to the source itself in order to learn what it is or what it means, but rather to the turns of speech, the allegories, figures, metaphors, as you will, into which the source has deviated, in order to lose it or rediscover it—which always amounts to the same.”― Jacques Derrida
“a normal human being ... does not exist.” ― Karen Horney
